I forgot to blog about the swimming competition yesterday. Can't believe I forgot either, when ALL the kids either won or placed in their respective heats and divisions! Yes, even Rielle!!! I am especially proud of her, for winning her heat in the breaststroke. She knew she was a good breaststroker; coming in first in her heat really boosted her confidence.....and the best part was, she did NOT let up, nor did she even pace herself! She just got faster with each stroke! Coolio, huh? I'm sure Lai and Dic were glad that Rielle did really well.
My kids did exceptionally well, too. According to Coach, all of them beat their old times. Mental note to self: have Raegan get a list of their times from previous races as well. Need to have those on record somewhere :)
It was an informal inter-club meet. The coaches all know each other and regularly organize races between the clubs: the Ayala Heights Harpoons versus the QCSC Club and the Celebrity Killer Whales. I was shouting myself hoarse.....maybe it was because between Lai and me, there were 5 kids to cheer for? Hehe. And the girls, with the exception of Raine, were more often than not swimming in the same heat! Sheesh!
Because it was an informal meet, there were no medals given out, but the kids did get a nice club shirt from Coach for their efforts, especially coming in first!
Raegan was pretty strong, with great form in the freestyle. Rogan, poor guy, was the ONLY boy from the Harpoons and so had to swim in all the relays aside from his events! Hehehehe. That's ok...this will make him stronger and faster if anything! Raine looked exceptionally good in the breaststroke; she practically flew across the pool! But of course, she kept looking over at the kids in the other lanes, which almost gave me apoplexy! Grrr! Needs more restraint, that one!
After the morning's events, we picked up Mom Nena and trooped to Pancake House in Eastwood to have a late brunch/early lunch. Then back home for a well-deserved rest for everyone, hehehe. I scrapped a lot, finally, but could not resist the lure of dreamland :)
Another note to self: I really MUST get our itinerary and tickets and other details for our US trip ready. I'm hoping that by writing them down here, it would remind me this week. I'm still doing some research on places to go while we're there, a lot being marked for future reference of course!
Pigeon Forge vacation rentals are already bookmarked. Places with options for bigger cabins/rooms are always a plus for our family obviously. So is a swimming pool no matter where we go. With the kids being water babies, swimming gives them another option to let loose AND still get some exercise! Schedule wise, we look for the best deals and because summer vacation here starts in March, it is always good to know that this spring month in the States is still a low-season month, i.e., lower-priced, in the States. Whew! :)
Ok, gotta get some sleep. We're going to early mass tomorrow because I want to spend all day in front of the computer because it's NSD in the States! Hehehehe.
TTFN!
