So today, we celebrate her "other life". Fr Benny told us in his homily that if we are really prepared, we do not need to fear death. In fact, we look forward to going into the "afterlife" because it is in this other life that we are truly alive; it is where God, Jesus and all those gone before us *are*.
After the mass, held on the second floor at the Magallanes Center above Ponzo's, we rushed to the tables at the back, laden with Ponzo's food and supplemented (of course) by Melinda's cooking. We were all hungry by that time, especially since we didn't eat all that much at the office :) Besides, I wanted to leave early since the kids had homework that needed to be checked and all. So I pretty much inhaled the delish pasta and the teriyaki salmon while the others scarfed down lengua (ugh). We drowned everything in water and iced tea. No other drinks, no beer, no wine on the wine rack. But we weren't there to get sloshed, now were we?
I was barely operating at all by this time....I had slept only a few hours. I was up until 530 this MORNING. Sure I was working on some subrosa reviews, but I really just could not sleep! I wasn't sleepy at all! Even though I was semi-reclining while typing, I didn't fee a need to sleep just yet. Until I looked at the clock and started panicking that it was almost LIGHT out, hehehehe! Sheesh!
I did get to finish ONE layout for the anniversary guest book, one that I had entered for the ON Designs blog challenge:
40th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY 31
Ok, time to pack away the laptop and TRY and go to bed EARLY. :)
