Another Birthday and a Craft Project
She's not here now, she's off to Beijing, China with Roselle and Roby, who surprised their mother for her 60th birthday. Fun, huh! I'm sure I'll hear great stories when they arrive sometime this week.
In the meantime, I have a craft project (sort of) to do. The kids are going to be having their Literacy Night on Friday and Saturday. This is when they get to dress up as their favorite fictional character. In short, it's Halloween time at their school :). The kids are all set: Raegan is going as a pirate girl, Rogan as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Raine as a witch, and Ranger will probably borrow Riley's Buzz Lightyear costume.
The kids are set, but Mama's not, hehehe. I have yet to do their loot bags. Or Treat Cards, more like it. It's just easier. Even with my back, I made myself sit at the computer for a couple of hours doing Photoshop :).
I was thinking of printing them myself to try and save some bucks; cheap ink is so hard to find nowadays. And with home photo printing and printing reports and photos for the kids' homework, ink basically just flows, hehehe.
Despite the low prices of printers now, it is still quite difficult to find ink on sale. Economics, anyone? Ink producers KNOW that their product is a near-basic commodity in this hi-tech world. So of course they won't lower the prices of ink! It is difficult enough to find places that sell ink at low prices, the manufacturers still cannot come up with bigger ink cartridges to save me yet another trip to the store!
I wish we had a place here like Printpal, a place where they sell ink at uber low prices! They even offer free shipping! How cool is that! Plus, they offer coupons to give you even more savings! When I'm in the States and have a craft project, I know where I'm going to get my next batch of ink cartridges!

That Time of the Month: Salaries!
You'd think that I run a company, hehehe, but it's still some work before I am able to release salaries. I wish the maids and driver would be able to get payday loans on their own and not have to go through me, you know? Most of the time, they need the advances for emergency purposes anyway, so finding a place that will get them their needed money asap would be great.
Sure, they probably have to pay interest, which I don't charge them, but getting a loan themselves would SO free me up from having to do all this (semi) accounting thing at the end of the month! AND, the best part is, the cash they borrow goes straight into their accounts! Can't beat that! Now....to convince them......

Gotta Love Having a Mac!
I haven't browsed for any specific mac games as of yet, but I'm positive there are a lot out there. I mean game manufacturers wouldn't leave out the Mac, would they? I know games are pricey, so instead of shelling out a lot of precious dollars, I search the internet world for free mac games first, to try out what's out there. And I download the heck out of most of them, hehehe.
With Japa's obsession with Generals, I'm looking for an alternative for that as well, so rpg games are fair game (pun intended!) as well. I like the non-violent ones obviously, and the "smart" kind of games. You know, where you have to use your noggin to advance to another level.

Resolve to Exercise
Over some meal a few days ago, my sisters and I were discussing ways to lose weight. We have 2 weddings next year and I know I'm not the only one feeling the pressure! We talked about gastric bypasses and cold wraps....but I'm thinking that liposuction is still the fastest way to get this body contoured. Uh-huh. Contoured. And I like the customized process of lipo and tummy tucks, too. No "standardized" thing, but doctors taking your actual measurements. Very professional for sure, plus no chance of the situations I read about where globs of fat deposits are taken out of a body part but then the whole look isn't distributed evenly. Nightmarish.
I know that ideally, I have to lose weight before even thinking of getting any of these procedures done, which is where the resolve to exercise comes in. I think aside from yoga, I'm going to try and do the Couch to 5k Program again. I know I started on this a few months ago, and I did do ONE week of the program, hehehe. Then my back hurt because of all the pounding it was taking from the running. So I stopped.
I've been reading how people have been doing with the Couch to 5K though, and I think my back is a lot better now. So maybe I'll give it another go.
And hey, I like to think ahead. I know that WHEN I lose weight, everything starts to sag. Yes, including the upper body. And you start to lose the fat deposits in the chest area. This is where some breast augmentation starts to come in. I just read that this procedure does not necessarily have to increase your bra size. It is used a lot of times to LIFT the breasts. Ahhhhh!!!! Do I see the lights turning on now? Hehehehe. Good thing to learn, eh?
Off to look for that Couch-5k Program again. And I'll post it here for easy access. Maybe if I see it everyday, I'll be more motivated. This should be a good start to the month eh?

A Random Blog
And for bloggers who like making money, this website also gives tips on how to go about doing it. I've already bookmarked this blog for some er....RANDOM.... thoughts, stories, and inspiration. I always need something like that. Brain fodder, you know?
Oh, before I forget, there's also some none-brain fodder in there where you just let loose and not think of anything while going through Random Games. Great mix of issues and topics dealt with Random Encounters!
{Some "Vintage" Scraps}
Why vintage? Had to search for these really old pics to scrap! Hehehe.
My folks with the grandkids.Journaling reads: 3.28.2001. Lolo Boy and Mamalyn brought all 5 grandkids to Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Of course, no trip would be complete without the Yayas (Ruby, Mira, Haydee) and Mama, Daddy and Mommy! Yes, we were such a big group to go with Reese, Rielle, Raegan, Rogan and Raine. Everyone had such a blast, including both Mamalyn and Lolo Boy, who enjoyed riding all the kiddie rides with their grandkids. The kiddos had so much fun during the entire day, not a one took a nap. Train rides, Dumbo, Peter Pan, even Snow White’s ride were part of the day’s fun. Naturally, there were about a million photos taken of each child with each Disney character we could spy throughout the park!

Interview Day
I also computed the necessary small wage adjustment as mandated by law, had our second HR meeting with my measly staff of 2, hehehe, and sent out a bunch of memos.
All in all, a productive day at the office. Which of course meant that I wasn't able to scrap until after office hours! Hehehehe! No time really. And I sooooo badly needed to back up my files, and I didn't even have time for that while doing the interviews! Aaargh!
Oh well. At least I got a lot of things done.
I get home and I worked a bit on my new baby, the iMac. Just for a bit. I take a break for dinner and get back to the room to find the kids all over the Fun Booth and the iPhoto programs. They
were taking loads of silly pictures! Kids! What's a mom to do, eh?Japa uses the iMac to play his Generals game. Making a mental note to buy more mac games for this new baby. Although, come to think of it, the kids MAY corner my new toy for more hours on end, hehehehe. But I do need a good version of mac solitaire for me to while away on; not that I'd have that much free time, what with scrapping taking up all my free time pretty much!
But games --- any game! --- cost too much moolah nowadays. I remember forking over close to $50 per game for the Wii! Sheesh! I know computer games don't cost as much (do they?) but I'm assuming that mac games will cost a little bit more than the usual PC games. Sigh. Gotta try out those free mac games sites first and see if I like anything before deciding. Free is definitely GOOD! Suggestions would be great at this point......so that *IF* I find the time, maybe I'd be up for a new mac game or two. *wink*
I have free time now....off to scrap! LOL!

Bummer Basketball, Blah and a Blurb
It was a pretty exciting game, especially the part where we were screaming our heads off, "Defense!" For the most part, our cheering was DEFINITELY noticed. I mean really! We were the ONLY loud ones there. If we hadn't started cheering, NO ONE else was going to start yelling. Sheesh! It made for exciting moments, hehehe.
But all to no avail. The boys were within 2 points when everything went to heck. They were too tired, since they practically had no substitutes on hand. Sigh. Sayang! Oh well. Maybe next year :)
I guess they should try getting some younger guys; nothing against the older guys, but really, they needed some speed on that team and not necessarily guys who looked like they needed to use provillus, hehehe.
{BLAH}
The blues? Weeeeellll....just feeling a bit blah lately. Maybe I'm PMSing...I hate that time of the month, you know? I go hot and cold within a short period of time. And no, it's NOT hot flashes either! I'm too young for that, hehehe! Maybe I'm perimenopausal (I read that somewhere). Maybe. But have a feeling I'm going to be nearing that time already. Just feeling bleck, and my back is starting to ache. Sigh!
{BLURB for Today}
Go check out my post a couple of days earlier. Where we talked about F.A.T. I guess it goes without saying that if one has fat, one has those ghastly cottage cheese type of growth on, in and within, our legs. This, my friends, is called cellulite. Ugh.
I've been trying to get rid of mine since I was what, 12?!?! I've always had cellulite on my arms, legs and stomach, the latter made worse due to childbirth! And the search for the perfect cellulite cream to completely eradicate these horrific bumps goes on and on and on. And on and on and on.
Want to be able to compare products before actually buying them first? Then check out this site to get the real deal on whether certain products work or not. What works and what doesn't. Where real people actually write reviews about the products. I guess I need to sift through this site to be able to find something for weight loss, trimming, dieting stuff, and (eek!) exercise gear maybe? I guess there's no denying that I MUST exercise somehow eh?
{CATCH UP SCRAPS}
More of these! I've got at least a couple of pages of layouts over at DST to wade through before I'm actually caught up! Here are a couple of pages that I scrapped for a potential album about our Walking Tour with Carlos Celdran a couple of months back:
A "kuchero" is a person who drives a horse-drawn carriage.Journaling reads: We spent an enjoyable 20-minute ride with Many Rey aboard his kalesa, pulled by Romeo his horse. Mang Rey told us that he started off working for one guy until he was able to save enough to buy his own kalesa and horse. He now has 8 kalesas and horses. Despite his success, he still enjoys driving people around the Walled City and sharing what he knows of the city’s history. Mang Rey is a typical hardworking Pinoy who has put all his children through school. He says he is grateful that the government has given people like him a chance to make money and to do well in business.

AMAZING LIVING MUSEUM
My LO for the ADSR Challenge 1.A potential cover for my Walking Tour album.
Journaling reads: Intramuros, the Walled City.....a museum in its own right. A LIVING museum of Philippine history. Built in the Spanish era circa 1500s, “intra muros” literaly means “within the walls”.The fortress and the city within was severely damaged by the Japanese during WWII. Today the city showcases different museums, monuments and churches that re-tell Philippine past.

F.A.T.
All this talk of losing weight in a major way --- we're going to have TWO weddings next year!!! --- makes me seriously consider lipo again. Not just ordinary lipo, but beverly hills liposuction. I figure, these are the people who made lipo "hollywood friendly" so to speak, so they should know the business pretty well, eh? Sigh (again). I do WISH I'd hit the lottery ---any lottery, for that matter--- just so I can do anything and everything to get some sort of body shape again, hehehe.
Another thing for my Christmas wish list? A beverly hills tummy tuck! After 4 kids, of COURSE I want abdominoplasty done one moi! I need that body contour and loss of excess body fat and skin that the procedure guarantees. All this weight I'm dragging around is not good for my back, obviously, and I AM trying by way of yoga and (some) diet, but trying to lose weight is SOOOO hard when you get older! Add that to the fact that I now live a pretty sedentary lifestyle, and there's not that much hope, is there?
The only thing I can think of for something FAST is to have los angeles cosmetic surgery. Fast and easy; all I do is lie down on a table right? I'm sure I'll be hurting afterwards, but then I'd have a SHAPE :) And that's all I want right now!

We're Moving? We're Moving!
Good thing I had packed our stuff (in Polaris) before we left. I had 2 huge boxes all filled up, and the rest we had either shipped to Manila or thrown away. I know Randy and company are looking at various Home Improvement Guides for tips on renovating what they can without breaking the bank. Wallpaper stripping, wall painting, grouting, even changing the faucets. He's done those, and lived to tell about it! Hehehehe. Good for him! At least all his efforts won't go to waste; it's slowly changing the look of Polaris from an "old, timeless" look to a more modern, more at-home and lived-in kind of place. Changes which will sure fetch a better price overall for Polaris.
Not sure if they've already thought about it, but I guess we have to start thinking of how to move the cars. Maybe we should contact a company that deals with auto shipping just so the whole move will go much more smoothly and we don't have to worry about a thing. I'm thinking a company that takes care of all the details for physically moving our vehicles would be safer (although much less fun!) than a convoy from LA to Vegas, hehehe.
Next problem we have to think of? How to furnish our new home-to-be. I'm assuming that Mom and Dad will be doing the same thing we did with Polaris: use international movers to ship our Philippine-made furniture (read that as wooden, carved and painted GOLD furniture! hehehe) from here to the States. Obviously, we're all crossing our fingers that Mom and Dad won't even think of international shipping, but just buying furniture from the local Ikea or something similar! :)
But until we close (or is it open?) escrow on the new house, all we can do is keep planning!

Change My Body Please!
I just felt old and heavy when I woke up this morning. Maybe all that driving I've been doing this entire vacation (past 2 weeks so far) and all the late nights I've been pulling since we don't have effing internet connection in our rooms and we have to go to the lobby to get connected! Aaargh! I hate feeling old! Hehehehe. Not a good thing to feel too, with my birthday coming up, eh? Hehehe.
Maybe I should ask Japa for some plastic surgery for my birthday.....maybe not this year but hmmmm.....maybe when I turn 40? Hehehehe. I am SO tempted to give in to this wish! Sigh! I want something done on my upper arms and my entire legs, for starters. Not a small thing, I know, but I just get so frustrated sometimes when I look in the mirror and when I try on clothes!
Sigh! Most of the time I have to laugh at myself. After all, I know I'm not perfect and I'm fine with the way I look, honestly. But there are times I wish I were thin as a rail (ok fine, curvy in all the right places!) and I can wear anything and look good!
At this point, I don't think I'll need any rhinoplasty done for sure. My nose is fine the way it is and I haven't had any problems with the way it looks. But after my arms and legs, I'm all for having Los Angeles breast enhancement done. We-e-e-e-ell, maybe not exactly enhancement, unless you call sculpting and lifting enhancement. I'd define enhancement as some bit of reduction as well, just to ease some pressure from my back and slipped discs. That would be a boon, for sure.
And why Los Angeles? Why, it's Hollywood, baby! :) Don't the best plastic surgery doctors come from here? Aren't their models some of the perfect faces we see on the big screen? And it's on Rodeo Drive! How fab is that? Most likely it'll be expensive, but, to borrow a line from L'Oreal (I think), I'm worth it! :)

Safety at Work and at Home
With a lot of finishing work being done to the ceiling and the dome of the Shrine, a must for all workers are Hard Hats. Right. I've maybe seen one or two people wearing one. Next, with the grinding of granite walls and floor tiles, not to mention columbarium vault covers, Safety Goggles are another must-wear safety requirement. I haven't seen anyone with a pair on. Filipinos in general are uber stubborn when we're talking safety here. For some strange reason, there is no pressing urgency to practice safety at work. I'm still wracking my brain to come up with a half-decent reason to give employees to convince them to start practicing safety while in the work place.
Maybe we need more one-stop stores for our safety needs. If we have more of those here, it would show more people that it IS an important concern for everyone. Talk of and practicing of safety starts with the employer, is what I say. With costs of high insurance and medical care nowadays, safety in the industrial workplace is a must.
A nice thing to see in a safety store is a section for Home Use Safety. Things were we can get equipment to ensure a safe environment while at our DIY home bench/garage area. First and foremost, First Aid Kits are a priority. No home (or garage workplace) should be without it. How about fire extinguishers? Emergency lights, flashlights and lanterns are also good.
Thank goodness Japa is conscious about these things. With the exception of fire extinguishers, we have everything else. I hope :)

2 Down, 8 to Go....
Now, since I'm feeling healthy, the next logistical step is to take a look at my diet, yes? Sigh! It has to come down to this, really, if I want to lose that extra poundage. Another sigh! For the record, I detest dieting! The last diet I went on, I got sick. As in REALLY sick. For about 5 days. Granted, it was a semi-crash diet, but still! :)
Dieting, with all that calorie counting! Ugh! The endless lists of what I ate, how many calories total; what I burned (as if I exercise that much--I don't!), and how many calories burned. Too time consuming! Luckily, there is such a thing as a calorie counter --- this website where I can input what I ate and boom! I have my totals for the meal, or for the day! Pretty cool, huh? Takes out ALL the work of looking through pages and pages of calorie counting books! There's also a dieting journal where you can keep track of meals and exercise you've done. All on the computer! But I still say that the BEST feature is the free calorie counter. Nothing beats free, and it is SOOO easy to use!
Let's see if I can add dieting to my yoga regimen......stay tuned! :)

And yes, I wrote that! :) Love those pics from Mother's Day this year. Except the one where we are all together (taken via Japa's camera timer), all the other pics were taken by the kids.
{YOGA}
Can I just say that I have been quite diligent in doing Yoga the past week and a half?!?!? I am proud of myself! This Sunday will finish up the SECOND week of yoga everyday. Following a book, instead of paying P800 per session twice a week. :) An awesome investment for the book, if you ask me. I did buy a clear book just so I can insert the pages (which I cut up!) into the clear covers for easier flipping through the pages.
I like this book (need to find a site that has a pic of it so I can post it) because it gives me a daily schedule to follow. It is arranged from the easier poses to the more difficult ones.
And yesterday was a HUGE day for me. I did this pose were I support my entire body on my neck and shoulders (not as painful as I'm describing here, hehehe) for a FULL minute!!! Whoohoohoo!!! So GO me! :) And yes, my back has gotten stronger again.....and I can sleep better at night! :)
{FLAGS}
Independence day is nearing for us here in the Philippines. The date itself is June 12. But our stupid President moved this holiday YET AGAIN because it happened to fall on a Tuesday!!! I mean, SO WHAT?!?!? How in heaven's name will we, as a people, feel patriotic when all we care about is how some holiday disrupts the work week....and that we can get an extended weekend because the "holiday" will now be on a Monday?!?!? Sheesh! Of all things to move, it's Independence Day!!!!
Anyway, I've been seeing a lot of flags waving around the streets. A good thing to show our patriotic spirit. I would love to see our country celebrate this holiday the way the States do: American Flags waving from each and every house, school and office building. I've also seen some people erect their own Outdoor Flag Poles to proudly wave the red, white and blue.
There are several online stores that sell US Flags, too! Online! Love how the site is divided into what kind of flag you want to buy: for the car, for decoration, for the flagpole. There are also cool pins to choose from, and not just USA stuff either. They carry flags from different countries, and yes, including the Philippines! How cool is that! :) I love shopping and looking through sites that carry a product that has "designs", i.e., flag designs, from other countries as well, especially the Philippines. Wouldn't that be ironic, though, to buy a Philippine flag overseas? :)
I try and teach my kids the importance of loving one's country. Sometimes it's hard to do with all the colonial mentality going around here, but I want the kids to know about their country and its history. Little by little, we're making progress. Thank goodness the school does its part in promoting love of country too!

May is Almost at an End!!!
Thank goodness for online shopping! There's a plethora of cheap gifts out there, if you know where to look. I'm always on the lookout for those, that's for sure. With 3 kids in school (soon to be 4 by the end of the year, if I get my way, hehehe), that's a minimum of 60 classmates and an assortment of 20 or so teachers. And don't even get me started on my family. Uhm.....can you say, minimum of 50?!?!?! Hehehe. See what I mean?
I'm thinking of getting digital picture frames as gifts, which are all the rage now. Thank goodness they are easily available online as well. Do you know that there are now WIRELESS digital frames? Uh huh. No idea where and how they do it, but it looks like regular picture frames on your desk/table. And yes, NO wires!!! Definitely something to look into!
When I shop online I make it a point to go to the button or link that says "On Sale" or "Clearance". Hehehe. Of course! We need to look at the cheapest possible (but nice!) gifts out there! Shopping for women is easy. On the other hand, getting Gift ideas for men is just so difficult! It used to be shirts and boom, you were done. But guys now are much more discriminating! They KNOW what they want, hehehe, and aren't afraid to let you know!
Which is why I like online shopping sites that categorize their products in such a way that is easier to search for something. Shop by price, by size, by color, by occasion, and of course an optino for personalization. I'm always big on that!
It's almost June...and FATHER'S DAY!!!! Ack! Gotta start shopping for gifts for the guys in my life!
Hmmmmm....I wonder if they'd appreciate a layout or 2 or 3..or an album? :)

{COLOR PICKER}

The Color Picker by Ades Design does just that: picks the colors that YOU want. Even right on your desktop. As a scrapper, I've always relied on Photoshop to exactly copy a shade of a color that I want. Only thing is, I have to open Photoshop to do it and maybe even save or copy an image on a website that I want because I wanted to emulate the color combination.
Well, it seems that this awesome $9.90 FULL download of Ades Design's software can pick the colors anywhere on your computer screen! For a web designer, web developer and YES, for a scrapper/digital scrapbook designer (!!!) this is such a powerful tool!
Imagine surfing the internet and a website or advertisement catches your eye, mainly because of the colors or the combination of colors on it. How easy is it to launch the Color Picker tool and save these colors for future use?!?!
Right on your desktop, click on the eyedropper to launch the program. Click Activate and then start clicking on those colors that so entranced you. From the floating menu that can hold up to 10 colors, you can then load these colors in the Color Library to store them for future use. The colors that the Color Picker saves can be output into RGB or HTML colors, so yes, even us scrappers will be able to use this program! Cool huh!
Well, off I go to try and keep my mojo going. I'm going to scrap some more, just as soon as I get back from Paul Cabral's to fit my Matron of Honor gown :)

Funny Faces and Serious Thoughts

Out there is a big, bag world. A world that we don't have any control over. A world full of bad people. An imperfect world with thieves, murderers, diseases and drugs. Here at home, the government has set up jails to keep in the thieves and murderers. Hospitals have been set up to help alleviate diseases. But drugs and the people who are addicted to these awful things --- I don't know of any drug rehab program that has been successfully implemented here.
If only the government and NGOs out there who purport their stance on really caring for people would look to various drug rehab programs and set them up here, it would help tremendously with the future of these drug addicts who are, more often than not, children. Kids like mine up in that photo.
A successful drug rehab program would be one that provides experienced doctors and therapists to help with counseling, that customizes a program to detox the patient based on that person's history (as opposed to a standard set up without regard for the patient's medical history). This program must provide nice living quarters for the patient so as to bring a sense of peace and security for the patient. This is probably the most expensive thing to provide, but it would be so much easier for a patient to cope with his therapy if he had a beautiful place to relax and meditate.
It doesn't come cheap, that's for sure. But what is "cheap" compared to the future of the children?
Time Out from NSD......
It was totally fun to do, with the kids getting into the spirit of things; they danced and practiced a few times and were total pros ---- their first take for their part, and they were done! Us big kids did some exercising: we hid behind chairs and bobbed up and down that was going to be put to some Austin Powers song. Hehehe.
Then came the part where we had to talk about Randy and say some birthday wishes for him. Uhhh...TALK!?!? In front of the camera?!??! Yikes! Everyone just about froze up, with the exception of Japa and Boydee *roll up eyes* hehehehe. It took ME like 10 minutes to try and get a birthday wish out! Hahahahaha! This part was NOT a good idea at all!!! Hehehe. I don't even remember what I blabbered about!
I know Rodney felt a bit left out...he is Randy's twin after all. But he was game and did everything with us. Because we're such a close-knit family, we of course could NOT greet Randy a happy birthday on video without greeting Rodney! So what did we wacky kids do?
At the end of our part, we all sang Happy Birthday Randy....but on the final line, we all yelled Happy Birthday RODNEY and the camera panned to Rod who waved at the camera and then blew out a candle. Hehehe. How's that for including him? :)
I'm sure (hoping!) that Stella wouldn't mind...after all, how can you separate twins on their birthdays? Hehehehe :) Plus, we couldn't greet one twin without greeting the other, no matter how hard we tried!
Also, as we were all trying to formulate well wishes for Randy, all of us were referring to Randy and Stella's coming wedding next month. It was a bit hard to try and separate the wishes for the birthday and the wedding; so we quickly scrapped that idea just in case we had to do the same thing for the wedding. :)
I remember a few months ago when Randy YMd me, asking me if he could ask me something. I immediately answered with, "let me guess, you're going to propose to Stella?" And he asked me whether I had talked to Mom since I knew, hehehe. I told him "no, it's a sister's intuition." That, plus I could see how the both of them were so in love with each other and weren't exactly hiding it. Hehehe.
Since we were both on the computer (in the same office, to boot!), we started searching for Engagement Rings. And O.M.Gosh---there is such a lo-o-o-o-o-t of sites and styles to choose from! Yikes! So we wade through different sites, looking, looking, looking. Randy wanted a classic Tiffany-type of ring; we tried to narrow it down but weren't all that successful, if I recall. Hehehe. There was just too many to choose from.
I also told him that Mom was probably going to freak out if she found out that he wanted something plain and simple. Mom is (in)famous for wanting a LOT of glitter and bling...even on the bands of her rings! And obviously, we were on the lookout for Diamond Rings, nothing less.
We settled on this site for inspiration. Loved the way they show the rings and how they described them. Easy to navigate, and definitely easier to see the details of the rings! And yes, they had a plethora of Tiffany-style rings, even those that had matching Wedding Rings! Hmmmm..speaking of, I'm going to have another look-see if I can spy rings for anniversaries. I remember Japa gifted us both with a new set of wedding bands for our 5th anniversary. Maybe something's up for the coming 10th anniversary? Heheehe. Japa, if you're reading this...this is a major HINT! Hehehehe---but I still love our wedding rings now, so you're safe :)
Ok, need to go back and scrap some CT stuff as well.

April Round Up
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I am reading Mitch Albom's For One More Day. And I finished reading the Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell and Dustin Thomason. And I think that's it, hehehe. Pathetic, I know, especially for someone who purports to love reading. However, I think I will start reading the Harry Potter series. Again. Yes, the ENTIRE series. Again. For the nth time. For some reason, I have this URGE to read everything, timing it so that I'd be prime and ready for the latest in the series. So yes, if this last book by J.K. Rowling is the 7th in the series, it means I've read book 1, the Sorcerer's Stone, 7 times, including the first time it came out.
Although I didn't get much reading done, I did put up a brand new blog, The Average Bookworm. I'm thinking that I'm going to write whatever about the books that I'm reading and the books that I've read and the books that I want to read over on that blog. Click on the link and let me know what you think :)
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
We watched TMNT, Zoom: The Academy for Superheroes and Happily Never After.
For TV shows, I've been addicted to Heroes!!! Loving that show!
What special days did I celebrate and how?
April 8 - Easter. The kids had a blast with the egg-hunting, of course.
April 10 - Raegan's birthday. Mass, Starbucks, Zensho's and movies in the movie room.
April 11 - 42nd Anniversary of Mommy Nena and Daddy Doods. A Spring Deer dinner at home.
April 26 - Japa's 38th birthday. Breakfast at Pancake House and dinner at the Coral Garden where the Crab Foo Young and Salted Fish Fried Rice were THE best!
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
I tried going back on the treadmill, and did! TWICE! Hehehe. We had to go to Cebu, so that sort of got side-tracked. Yoga was sidetracked as well, due to Cebu. Now we're just catching up.....and my back has started to hurt again. Not the tingling, nagging-can't-shake-it-type of hurt, but full-blown PAIN. Ugh. Painkillers every now and then do the trick, but I'm resting my back in a MAJOR way.
The boys both had asthma right before we went to Cebu. In a panic, I bought Goji juice (sort of like Intra and Noni Juice) which we brought to Cebu. We also had the nebulizer with us, so between nebulizing, Goji juice and dips in the ocean, the boys got better and better as the week progressed. Whew!
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
We went to Cebu! And spent close to a week there, too, courtesy of Tita Nonie and Bang, and Shangri La hotel, hehehe. We had SUCH a blast! Of course, by the time we were done, we were all suffering some major subnurn, and the kids were a tad dark, hehehe...enough to make Mom freak out and start worrying about how her grandkids would look dressed in wedding finery for Randy and Stella's wedding!
The GSS wasn't done on a regular basis, although we did squeeze in a session while in Cebu. The kids started some summer school classes at U.P: Taekwondo, Rhythmic Gymnastics and Street dance. Swimming, of course, continued.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Hmmmm....would you believe....NOTHING?!?!? I couldn't believe it either, so I went to check my dashboard, and....nothing! Aside from SOME scrapping kits, naturally! I can't believe this! hehehe.
What were this month's disappointments?
Mainly, that my back started hurting again :( No major disappointments, I think. None that I remember, at least
What were my accomplishments this month?
CT requirements done, some even being exceeded :) With the TON of Cebu pictures we all took, I think I'm going to be busy for a bit. Also, I'm having ALL the old photos of the kids scanned in, so I'm going to be busy for a long, long time!
I've been pretty good updating my blog, I think. I've even ventured into a little bit of Blogging for Money :) It's a trial and error thing, but I think I'm doing ok...at least, I've got Paypal money for my scrapping purchases! Hehehe.
I did the treadmill, yeah! Twice! See above. :)
Scrapping TOOTS:
1. Katie the Scrapbook Lady asked me to continue on as part of her regular CT!!! Whoohoo!
2. Darcy Baldwin has extended my Guest CT stint for one more month! Yeah!
3. I am Guest CT for Karah Fredrick's this coming month (May)!
So YAY me! :)
Anything else noteworthy to record?
We're STILL in the planning stages for Lola Nene's 88th birthday. We're trying to do Shanghai and/or Beijing....but I'm thinking the HEAT during that time will just about make us all WILT!!! We WERE adding Australia and/or New Zealand as possibilities, but I think that's losing out, darn it!
Almost done planning for our trip to the States for our 10th wedding anniversary. Oh so close! :)
April Layout Count: 49!

In a nutshell, O.M.Gosh! If you have lots of kids or lots of household help, then you NEED to go visit Chorebuster! Basically, what it does is, it maps out for you the schedule of chores for each person in your household. You have the option of printing it out for each person per week, or you can have a sort of master list which includes each person AND the chore each person is supposd to do EACH day of the week! And once you input all the chores and all the people, you just sit and wait for the chore list to be emailed to you (or the person involved).
Is this a COOL site or what?!?! I love it! I was going to put my kids' names in it, but seeing that I'd have more use of this site by inputting the names and chores of the maids and drivers in our household, I decided to go this route.
I put in 7 (!) names on the list, and about 25 different chores. With a big house and several people having to clean, this site is a Godsend, I swear! I tell the site what particular days certain chores should be done and who does it. I can even tell the site when I want certain chores to start. Then vavoom! I click print, and there it is, all nice and neat!
I cannot tell you enough about Chorebuster, you have to try it out for yourself! And yes, of course it's free! :)
I'm not sure if I can have a second set of people, but I think I'm going to do a chore schedule for the kids as well.

Sweet Rewards
- question #1 who’s your dreamy dreamy steamy hottie (and hubby’s don’t count) don’t just answer.. post up a picture, I need eye candy! I've loved this guy ever since Remington Steele. He is THE perfect James Bond, too! :)
The perfect gentleman. The perfect everything, hehehe. Oh, and yeah, Japa knows :)
- question#2 what is the goofiest thing you’ve said/done this week?
This is a tough one. I know if I've done something or said something goofy...I usually forget it. Intentionally. Hehehe. A self-defense mechanism maybe? I've been in some pain this week, too, so definitely nothing goofy said OR done!
- question #3 If I (or some random other person, as I can’t really answer this properly otherwise haha) walked into your house RIGHT NOW, what would embarrass you the most (be it an item, a mess, your fridge.. whatever)?
My home isn't the neatest, nor does it look like I have a home that comes straight out of a magazine. Everything is strewn all over the place, my home furniture mix and match, my room a gigantic enourmous mess, lol! Oh, and if we're talking about the right NOW? I'm in a dowdy cotton nightgown, hehehe.
- question #4 what creepy things do you have living (or growing.. ) under your bed (due to lack of cleaning of course)?
Ugh! I have rolls of personalized wrapping paper, Japa's exercise paraphernalia, a stepping stool (our bed is high)....and God only knows.
- question #5 have you ever done a drive by fart in the super market? Did anyone notice?
Sure! Hehehe. The "best" ones are what we dub the "silent killers". Hehehe. NO ONE ever notices, unless we burst out laughing :)
- question #6 Finish this sentence… If I were a duck__________.
I'd quack and swim the whole day through. Nothing original co
- question #7 google it … dude do it! ” your name is” __
Hmm, I've tried all sorts of combinations of the words Your Name is, but nothing is showing up? Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
- question #8 what colour are your underwear?
Right now? Black :)
- question #9 if you could be with anyone right now, who would it be? why?
I'd love to be on a digital scrapbooking retreat with fellow digiscrappers. Narrow it down, you say? How about the Sugar Babes? :) Think of all the INSPIRATION! I can only hope some of it would rub off on me!
- question #10 close your eyes, what do you see?
Me, (a lot!) thinner, leaner, sexier. Then I open my eyes, and the image disappears. Hehehehe. One can dream, eh?
In the meantime, check out these shorts to the right. I think I saw them on the Yahoo home page and I clicked on it instinctively. Why? They have Rogan's real name on them: ROMAN! Hehehe. I was going to show it to him and tell him that he was famous!
Turns out that these shorts and their owner are on their way to becoming famous! The owner is a young man by the name of Roman Greenberg who, at 24, is one of the youngest heavyweights to compete in the WBO.
A backgammon online company purchased these shorts for a whopping $100,000 to help sponsor Roman (I'm going to use his first name here since it was what drew me to the shorts in the first place, hehehe) in his quest to be one of the youngest top heavyweights in the boxing arena by taking on one of the WBO's top boxers. After the fight, the backgammon company will auction off the shorts to benefit impoverished Arab and Jewish youths.
A lofty but commendable goal for sure. Being a former athlete who has relied on sponsors to help support my teams to compete in different countries, I say amen to these kinds of endeavors. And what's not unique about a boxing and backgammon tandem for the benefit of the youth? I say the more different and unique a promotion is, the better chance it has for being noticed in this marketing-filled world.
I'm not into boxing that much, except when rooting for Manny Pacquiao of course, but backgammon? I have loved that game since I first played it a little bit over 25 years ago! Whoa...that's a quarter of a century! :)

Sunday Scraps and Blog-ation
I just HAD to stay home and rest my back. Not because I want to, but because I NEED to. Sigh! For the first time in the longest time so far, I have had to take a few painkillers. I had to, otherwise I wouldn't be able to function.
So I stayed on my tummy and scrapped. I also tried to sit on the bed indian-style (and was pretty successful, too!) as well as on an inclined position. Anything and everything I tried, including heat packs. My back was very well treated today, that's for sure!

Conversation between Rogan and Mama:Rogan: Mama, do you have antihista-something
Mama: Antihistamine?
Rogan: Yes, that's it.
Mama: Yes, I think we do.
Rogan: Mama, look at me!
Mama: WHAT happened?!?!
Rogan: Papa said an insect bit me.
Note: Rogan only went to get medicine just so he could eat pizza (Papa wouldn't give him a slice until the swelling had gone down).

{BLOG-ATION}
Not a word, I know, but it fits stuff I find on the internet that talk about blogging. I'm still trying to get more of my family into the blogging world. I know there are some out there who read my blog (but don't comment! HMP! --- you know who you are!) so I figure I might as well put out the information here, or some links, to help ease them into the blog-o-sphere. Is that a word? Hehehe.
For people starting to venture into the world of blogging, it's always good to read about great tips out there. Daniel Scocco wrote this article on 10 Rules for Responsible Blogging. It is a very straightforward article and mainly talks about the fact that we, as blog readers, should NOT assume that whatever we read in blogs are true. Or that they are reliable. In turn, to ensure our, shall we say, respectability, in the blogging world, it is always good to check our facts first, and/or to write from the heart. Part of being responsible of course, is to state in your blog that whatever opinions you state on your blog are just that: your opinions and no one else's.
Of course, if you provide links to other reference materials to back up your opinions, you are practicing responsible blogging. This includes advertisers who buy reviews. Hopefully, I am able to adhere to these rules. At least, as much as I can. Be sure to give a holler if I need to do it (responsible blogging) a little bit better. We're all here to learn, and to do things better.
So, for those friends and family out there who are just THINKING about blogging, GO FOR IT! But let me know if I can help you :) I'm a text message, a phone call, a YM away! :)
TTFN!
